Partner Programs

Working in partnership with other organizations, we are pleased to host several partner fitness programs at Ironworks.

Iron Eagles

Working in partnership with Pathways Health Centre for Children since the '90s, the Iron Eagles Strength Training Club has provided a strength and fitness circuit-training program for individuals with disabilities over the age of 13. The program is built on a foundation of volunteers, who are Ironworks members.

When I think about it…the Iron Eagles Strength Training program is more than just a fitness program for young people with special needs. It’s a place each time we meet, where we find ourselves immersed in a group of people that are there for one reason… to see one another succeed. The camaraderie that has developed over the past 20 years is truly the strength of this program. We push each other to work harder, laugh louder and risk trying things we never thought we could do. Our dedicated volunteer coaches believe that, regardless of ability, anything is possible if you try. Their passion and enthusiasm is contagious and brings to life our battle cry at the close of each session: “Eagles Soar!” Coach Dave

The Iron Eagles Program is more than just a fitness group, it is a community. A community where everyone is uplifting and encouraging to others. It is a chance for everyone to recharge their batteries, work hard, and leave feeling good about themselves. There is a positive energy surrounding the Iron Eagles team and it is contagious. Everyone wants to be there every week to cheer each other on to work hard and improve themselves. To push the limits and continue to smash their personal bests. There is no complaining or excuses, only the pursuit of improving yourself and encouraging others along with you. Iron Eagles are hard working, respectful, and friendly!

  • Coach Jamie

I used to watch the Iron Eagles workout while on the treadmill. The enthusiasm was contagious, and I wanted badly to join. Still working shifts, I was unable to commit 100 %. Iron Eagles give 100 %. Upon retirement, my first order of business was to see if I could join the Tuesday night workout. Dave said I now qualified and would be welcome to join in. Happy days! I joined the “Eagles” and have made many friends. Hope to see you all soon at “muscle beach” or under the bar on the bench. Jamie out.

Titans Powerlifting

Working in partnership with Special Olympics Sarnia, Titans Powerlifting teaches and trains individuals 13 years and older, in the art of powerlifting. Participants can compete in powerlifting tournaments, starting locally and moving up through the ranks to regional, provincial, national, and even international competitions.

Titans start training in September for their first local competition, Give the Kids a Lift bench press competition, hosted annually in April, in support of Pathways Health Centre for Children.

Special Olympics Sarnia is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that provides athletic opportunities for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in the Sarnia-Lambton community.

I’ve been involved in Titans powerlifting since 1991, when we took our first three athletes to a Special Olympics tournament in North Bay and two of the athletes are still training with the team today. The Titans to us is more than a powerlifting team, it’s about camaraderie, friendships, self-esteem, and exercise. To be a Titan, it’s more than just a workout and our athletes show it. Every year Titans get to demonstrate their strength at our Give The Kids a Lift bench press competition, where Ironworks and Pathways Health Centre for Children have been teaming up to put on the most inspiring event, truly a highlight of my life, how a community comes together with one goal to see lives changed.
